Article Evaluation Process

Submission and Preliminary Review

Manuscript Submission: Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal's electronic submission system (link). During submission, authors must declare the originality of their work and disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

Preliminary Review: The Editor-in-Chief and/or Associate Editors quickly review the manuscript to assess its suitability concerning the journal's scope, format, and quality standards. Additionally, the manuscript undergoes a similarity check, requiring a similarity index below 20%. At this stage, the manuscript may be rejected if it does not meet technical requirements or falls outside the journal's scope, or it may be forwarded to the Section Editor if deemed appropriate.

Section Editor Review: The manuscript that passes the preliminary review and similarity check is examined by the relevant Section Editor for topic, scope, language, and academic adequacy.

*The preliminary review phase can take up to one (1) month, depending on the workload of the editorial office.

Reviewer Assignment and Evaluation

Reviewer Selection: This journal employs a double-blind peer review system where reviewers and authors remain anonymous to each other. The Section Editor selects two (2) reviewers with appropriate expertise from different universities, considering potential conflicts of interest. The manuscript is sent to these two independent reviewers. The reviewers are expected to accept or decline the invitation within 7-15 days. If a reviewer does not respond within this timeframe, the Section Editor may resend the invitation or appoint a new reviewer.

Evaluation Criteria: Reviewers are expected to evaluate the manuscript within thirty (30) days. In certain circumstances, reviewers may request an extension. Section Editors have the authority to grant or deny such requests. Reviewers assess the manuscript based on Originality, Methodology, Findings and Analysis, and Writing and Presentation.

Reviewer Reports: Reviewers submit their detailed reports and recommendations on the manuscript through the Manuscript Evaluation Form. Recommendations include acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection.

Reviewer Feedback: Based on the reviewer reports, the Section Editor may request revisions from the author, reject the manuscript, or accept it. If one reviewer recommends acceptance and the other recommends rejection, the Section Editor sends the manuscript to a third reviewer. In case of required revisions, authors must submit the revised manuscript and a response letter addressing the reviewers' feedback through the system. Authors are given a maximum of 30 days to complete revisions. Authors may accept the revision request or withdraw their manuscript. The revised manuscript is usually sent back to the same reviewers or, occasionally, to new reviewers. Reviewers evaluate the revisions and provide their final decision. Based on the reviewer reports, the editor decides whether to accept or reject the manuscript. At this stage, further revisions may be required, or the manuscript may be rejected.

Final Decision and Publication

Accepted manuscripts are reviewed by Turkish and/or English Language Editors, and authors may be asked to make necessary corrections. This review is completed within 15 days. Once the manuscript meets all technical, academic, and linguistic requirements, it is forwarded to the Advisory Board. The final decision, reached by consensus or majority vote of the Advisory Board, is communicated to the author(s) through an acceptance letter. Finally, the manuscript is formatted and prepared for publication. Before publication, the final version is sent to the author for proofreading, and any necessary technical corrections are requested. After this stage, the final version of the manuscript is approved by the author. The manuscript is queued for publication and published on the journal's online platform. Once published, the manuscript becomes accessible to the scientific community and the research audience.
